Overview

The Lexus LS350/500 is the petrol version of Lexus's flagship luxury sedan. It comes with either a 3.5L naturally aspirated V6 (LS350, 312 hp) or a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 (LS500, 415 hp), and a panoramic moonroof and hands-free power trunk are highlighted on the UAE page.

Pros

  • Choice of two 3.5L V6 engines: 312 hp (LS350) or 415 hp (LS500)
  • Panoramic moonroof
  • Hands-free power trunk
  • Triple-beam LED headlamps and signature L-shaped tail lamps
  • Priced below the LS500h hybrid (from AED 457,000)

Cons

  • Petrol only, with no hybrid or electric assistance (the hybrid is the separate LS500h)
  • Official page gives no fuel economy, torque, acceleration or safety data
  • Price shown as a single 'from' figure, so the exact cost of each engine is unclear

SWOT

Strengths

  • Flagship Lexus sedan with a choice of naturally aspirated or twin-turbo V6
  • Premium materials and Japanese craftsmanship emphasised by the brand
  • AED 367,000 starting price, about AED 90,000 below the LS500h

Weaknesses

  • Pages do not publish fuel consumption, safety or warranty details
  • Petrol-only powertrain next to Lexus's growing electrified range

Opportunities

  • Flexible hire-purchase plans from AED 5,750/month and cash-purchase deals advertised by Lexus UAE
  • Test drives and a configurator are available online to compare grades

Threats

  • Lexus is steering buyers toward hybrids and EVs (LS500h, ES500e), which may affect resale of the petrol model
  • Rival luxury flagship sedans may offer more electrified options
